Our Family
It all began in 1981 just outside of Port Perry, when my parents started a small side business out of our family garage called ‘Nestleton Stove Works’.
Just a few years later, my father left his factory job to sell, service and install fireplaces full-time and eventually moved the business out of the family garage into a retail space in Port Perry.
That retail space was given the name ‘Overridge Fireplace’ – and it has been running strong ever since.
Overridge Fireplace has been providing quality products and services to the Durham Region and surrounding areas for over 30 years. We are your one stop shop for everything Fireplace, Furnace and Barbeque.

About Me
As far back as I can remember, my life has revolved around the hearth industry. From accompanying my father on sales and service calls when I was growing up to gradually working with the installation and service crews as I grew older – fireplaces are what I know.
After 2 years as Store Manager of Overridge Fireplace and being closely involved in the industry for as long as I have, I knew my time had come to start this venture on my own. When my father was ready to retire and sell his original landmark store, I took the opportunity to become Owner and Operator and have not looked back.
All of my 5 siblings have followed our father into the family business. Between my 3 brothers and I, we now independently operate 12 stores in the greater Toronto area. A humble beginning in a small Ontario town to a network of successful family stores – the Malcolm’s know fireplaces.
